This project is a research collaboration between the Open University, UK, and the Institute of Education involving 10 selected primary schools within the Cape Coast Metropolis. This initiative is part of Open University's Teacher Education for Sub Saharan Africa (TESSA) programme which has been in existence for over 20 years. The project is funded by the Open University, UK. The project began in July 2024 and will through to March 2025.

The Partners in Play (P3) Project is a 4-year and 6-month initiative (2019-2024) funded by The LEGO Foundation and implemented by Right to Play (RTP) Ghana. In partnership with the Ministry of Education, the project focuses on improving the quality of education for Ghanaian children aged 4-12 through play-based learning.
January 2023 - May 2024
In 2019, the government of Ghana introduced the Standards-Based Curriculum (SBC) for early childhood and primary education, with full implementation beginning in 2020. The SBC emphasizes traditional academic skills alongside core competencies and values to prepare students for a globalized world.
August 2024 - April 2023
The Partners in Play (P3) Project, implemented in Ghana across 55 districts in Greater Accra, Volta, and Northern regions, aims to enhance the quality of primary education by training teachers to incorporate play-based activities into their teaching. The project consists of two components: a direct intervention where teachers receive training from Right to Play (RTP) and indirect interventions where district education officials train teachers.
