Call for Applications: Study Visit at Karlsruhe University of Education
As part of the “Get Ready for Global Teaching!” project at Karlsruhe University of Education, we are pleased to share the following Call for Applications for students from University of Cape Coast (Ghana) for a one semester study visit at Karlsruhe University of Education during the summer semester 2026 (March – August).
Karlsruhe University of Education: Study and Live in a Cultural and Technological Hotspot!
Karlsruhe University of Education is a university that specializes in educational processes in diverse institutional, social and cultural contexts. With around 3,400 students, it represents an important centre for educational research in the region of Baden-Württemberg. Research, teaching and practice are closely integrated. Our unique profile is shaped by our profile areas “Education in a democratic society”, “Educational processes in the Digital World” and “STEM in a culture of sustainability”.
The University’s campus is located in the centre of Karlsruhe – an open-minded and tolerant, green city in southwest Germany at the edge of the Black Forest. Situated on the river Rhine and near the border to France, Karlsruhe is known for being one of Germany’s sunniest cities.
As a small-sized university, we are able to provide close and personal support to our incoming
students. Starting with your application, you will be guided through administrative and
organisational matters. Once you have arrived in Karlsruhe, a buddy programme and an
orientation phase including an intensive German language course and activities with our
International Club are going to ensure a smooth and pleasant start of your semester abroad at our university.
Study Options
As an exchange student, you can choose from the entire range of courses at Bachelor and Master level. You can also choose and mix courses from different faculties and subjects. In order to choose courses in music, arts or sports, you would have to study these subjects (or related subjects) at your home university. Further information on the disciplines taught can be found in our information brochure or online.
Orientation Period
In March, we offer a 5-6-week pre-semester intensive German language course (about 90-100
hours, 9 ECTS credits) to our exchange students. The course is free of charge and is available at different levels (absolute beginners, beginners, intermediate and advanced).
The pre-semester language course is part of our extensive orientation period (1 month) with trips and activities provided by our International Club, a Buddy Programme, a full-day workshop on „Intercultural Competence”, an official Welcome Reception with the University’s President and in- depth counselling and support by our International Office.
